Bedside Vigil Support
Bedside vigil support is a quiet, supportive presence during the final hours or days of life.
As an end of life doula in Victoria, BC, I sit with your loved one either alongside family or on your behalf, offering calm companionship, gentle reassurance, and a steady presence. This may include sitting in silence, reading aloud, playing soft music, or simply holding space so no one has to be alone at the end of life.
This is non medical end of life support focused on presence, comfort, and respect during a deeply meaningful time.

Virtual Bedside Support
When you can’t be there in person, I offer virtual bedside support so you can stay connected and present.
Through video or phone, I guide you in how to support your loved one from a distance. This may include:
- Helping you talk to your loved one
- Offering gentle guidance on what to say or do
- Creating a calm and grounded space while you are connected
This type of end of life support allows families to feel involved, supported, and connected, even when they are far away.
Holding Space
Holding space, a core part of end of life doula support.
Being fully present without judgment, pressure, or expectation. A quiet, supportive presence where:
- Feelings can be shared openly
- Silence welcomed
- Nothing needs to be fixed
Support offered through listening, witnessing, and steady presence, so nothing has to be carried alone.

Opening Space Ceremony
An opening space ceremony is a gentle way to begin end of life support with intention.
This can be done at the start of our work together or when a transition is happening. It may include:
- Lighting a candle
- Sharing meaningful words or intentions
- Creating a moment of pause and presence
This helps shift from doing into being, allowing everyone to arrive emotionally and spiritually in the moment.
Ritual Support
Ritual support is an important part of end of life care and can bring comfort, connection, and peace.
Rituals are simple, meaningful actions that help mark important moments. These may include:
- Music, readings, or prayers if meaningful to you
- Memory sharing
- Quiet reflection or symbolic acts
All rituals are personalized and can be spiritual, cultural, or completely non religious, based on what matters most to you and your family.
