Cost of an End of Life Doula

Cost of an End of Life Doula in Victoria, BC

One of the first questions people often ask is what it costs to work with an end of life doula.

That is a fair and important question.

The answer is not always simple, because support at end of life is not always the same from one family to the next.

How pricing usually works

End of life doula support is often flexible.

Cost can depend on:

  • How much support is needed
  • How long support is needed
  • Whether support is in person or virtual
  • Whether the support is for planning, bedside presence, family support, or a combination

Some doulas charge by the hour. Some offer packages. Some put together support based on the family’s specific needs.

Why prices can vary

No two end of life situations are the same.

Some people need a few hours of support or a planning session.

Others need ongoing support over a period of days or weeks.

Because of that, pricing is often based on the kind of support being provided rather than one flat fee for everyone.
